2025 Cincinnati Open Doubles Fields Announced

The doubles fields for the Cincinnati Open have been announced, with 19 past champions entered to compete for this year’s title during the Aug. 5-18 tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

Defending champions Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic are one of three past winning teams in the men’s field, joined by 2023 titlists Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni and 2021 champions Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.

Women’s defending champions Asia Muhammed and Erin Routliffe are back with new partners, Muhammed with 2020 champion Demi Schuurs and Routliffe with her long-time teammate Gabriela Dabrowski. Fan favorite and world No. 2 Taylor Townsend, who won the 2023 doubles title, teams up this year with 2021 winner Zhang Shuai.

Doubles gold medalists at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, could once again face silver medalists Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider. Almost rounding out the Olympic set in Cincinnati is bronze medalist Cristina Bucsa. Men’s 2024 gold medalists Matthew Ebden and John Peers are entered with different partners.

Regional interests include 2022 Cincinnati Open winner Rajeev Ram from Carmel, Ind., who was a silver medalist in Paris last summer and is teaming up with Nikola Mektic in August. Former University of Kentucky standout Gabriel Diallo will partner with a past Southeastern Conference rival in Florida’s Ben Shelton.

The initial entrants include:

  • 11 of the 12 winners of the year’s first three Grand Slam doubles titles, including five of the six teams.
  • 21 men with a total of 37 Grand Slam doubles titles, and 12 women with a total of 32 Grand Slam doubles titles.
  • 19 past Cincinnati Open doubles champions – 11 men and 8 women
  • 12 Olympic doubles medalists – 6 men and 6 women

There will be 32 teams in each doubles field, with three wild card teams in each announced at a later date. Currently 29 men’s teams are entered, and 24 women’s teams with five more to be added on site. The complete list of doubles entrants can be found here.
