Already dreaming about your summer vacation plans? Look no further than a Cincinnati Open getaway – the perfect quick trip to cap off your summer with made-for-you experiences for your whole crew.
The convenience of a trip to the Cincinnati Open is hard to beat. Located within a day’s drive or a one-hour flight of 60 percent of the US population, getting here is easy as could be. (Hotels are already filling up – book yours today!)
This year’s tournament offers more days to choose from (including two weekends!) as the Cincinnati Open expands to fill two full weeks, August 5-18. Once here, fans spend an average of seven hours on-site each day, hopping from court to court to see the world’s best tennis, sampling various bites and beverages, enjoying live music or shopping for some Cincinnati Open swag. This year, we’re taking the on-site experience up a notch (actually, a lot of notches) as the campus is in the midst of a $260 million transformation set to be unveiled at this year’s tournament. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it.
While hours upon hours can (and should!) be spent at the Cincinnati Open, your Cincinnati experience doesn’t have to stop there. Bookend your tournament trip with some of our favorite Cincinnati region recommendations to make it a visit to remember.
Experience the Action
Does the on-court tennis action have you craving even more? Cincinnati is a big-league sports hub, featuring the Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Bengals and FC Cincinnati. All three are in-season in August offering plenty of opportunities to catch a game. Or maybe you’re eager to get on-the-move yourself? The nearby Little Miami River and Scenic Trail is the perfect backdrop for some leisurely kayaking or a bike ride to stretch your muscles after camping out at the courts all day.

Tickle Your Tastebuds
There’s no shortage of food and drink options at the Cincinnati Open, ranging from the signature Dobel Ace Paloma cocktail to a scoop of the ever-popular Graeter’s ice cream. To take your experience even further, plan a visit to Findlay Market in downtown Cincinnati, a foodie paradise with countless restaurants, shops and food purveyors all within one city block. For a more traditional take on culinary culture, the Golden Lamb offers a fine dining experience dating back to 1803. And we can’t forget the breweries and bourbon that bridge north and south right here in the Cincinnati region. With 50+ craft breweries to choose from (we suggest Sonder!) and the nearby bourbon trails, you can’t go wrong.

Family Fun
Between Kids Day, the new Fan Zone and various autograph sessions throughout tournament, the family-friendly opportunities at the Cincinnati Open are plentiful. For more family fun, you can’t beat Kings Island, just steps away from the tournament site, which boasts some of the world’s most acclaimed roller coasters, a newly expanded water park and a brand-new kids’ area, Camp Snoopy. The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden and the Cincinnati Museum Center are also family favorites. Be sure to visit the ever-famous hippos, Fiona and Fritz! (Not to confused with this Fritz.)
See the Sights
If you’re still up for more exploration after meandering through the Cincinnati Open’s 40-acre campus, you’re in luck. Within miles of the tournament, Fort Ancient is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (one of only 26 in the US) that features North America’s largest ancient hilltop enclosure, built by American Indians nearly 2,000 years ago. For more modern exploration, check out the various walkable entertainment districts in downtown Cincinnati – particularly The Banks or Over-the-Rhine. We recommend exploring the region via the hundreds of murals that tell the stories of Cincinnati, including a Cincinnati Open mural painted in 2024.

Treat Yourself
After sipping champagne and perusing the Cincinnati Open Shop, keep the pampering going with local experiences that offer the finer things. The Cincinnati Premium Outlets give you a smorgasbord of style all for a fraction of the price. Or visit the Rookwood Pottery Showroom in downtown Cincinnati for a more unique shopping experience. Ask about the Cincinnati Open’s custom-made Rookwood Cup trophy and you may just get a look at how it’s made! End your day with a rooftop cocktail or a sunset riverboat cruise to take in the city scenery at the conclusion of your trip.

Endless fun awaits with a trip to the Cincinnati Open. Single session tickets will be available on April 11, but those who register for the pre-sale will gain access on April 10. Start planning your visit today!
