As we come to the close of 2023, we can’t help but reflect on what was an epic year in the #CincyTennis world. We rounded up some of our favorite moments from the past 12 months so you can join in on the nostalgia. Reminisce with us as we countdown to #1 – bet you can’t guess what it is!
10. Record crowds during opening weekend
We love our fans. We love seeing a lot of our fans. We especially love seeing more fans on opening weekend than we’ve ever seen before.
9. The new Rookwood Cup reveal
Our New Year’s Resolution is to have a glow up as big as the Rookwood Cup’s.

8. Stefanos Tsitsipas’ altercation with a bee (?)
Which one of you did this? We’d like a quick word.

7. Venus Williams’ comeback win
Just queen stuff.
6. Novak Djokovic’s return to the US
No big deal, just Novak casually filling an entire stadium for his first practice back in the US.
5. Ocho Cinco getting some reps in at Center Court
Why did this happen? Who knows. How did it come to be? We’re still not really sure. But… it was sick?
4. Investing in our Cincinnati community
We’re huge fans of Cincinnati and are excited to continue to invest in the place we call home.
3. Coco Gauff taking the title
Not only did she clinch her first 1000 level title, Coco Gauff also got her first win over Iga Swiatek after a previous 0-7 record against the World No. 1 here in Cincinnati. We’re not taking any credit, but after her success in Cincy she went on to hoist the US Open trophy as well. Coincidence? Hard to say.

2. Gauff and Djokovic announcing the future of the tournament
Our beloved champions helped deliver some of the best news of the year – our tournament is staying in Cincinnati and will be bigger and better forever.
1. The epic showdown between Carlos Alcaraz and Djokovic
Djokovic ripping his shirt off after the 4 hour showdown was anything but unwarranted. To everyone’s delight, the World No. 1 and 2 fought tooth and nail to the final and sprinkled in some incredible displays of athleticism and talent while they were at it.

Cheers to ’23
Gratitude doesn’t even begin to describe the feeling we have for the players, fans, volunteers, and everyone in between who made 2023 one for the books. We are counting down the days until we can see you again next August.
Until then, we wish you nothing but joy and good tennis. See you next year.
