While the stars of the WTA and ATP Tours take the court to compete for the Cincinnati Open title, tournament attendees will enjoy their own world-class experience as the Lindner Family Tennis Center comes to life Aug. 10-19 with a wide variety of food, drink and entertainment opportunities.
“Our goal is to make the Cincinnati Open a can’t-miss event while maintaining its reputation as one of the most intimate and accessible tennis tournaments in the world,” said Bob Moran, President of Beemok Sports & Entertainment. “We appreciate that our fans typically spend their entire day with us, and we want them to enjoy every moment. We’re elevating the entire fan experience, from upgrading seats for better tennis viewing to enhancing the food, drink, merchandise, music and programming options, ensuring there’s something to enjoy between every match.”
From the tournament’s first-ever Community Day on Saturday, Aug. 10 through the championship matches on Monday, Aug. 19, there will be plenty for all attendees to choose from to make the most of their Cincinnati Open experience.
Fan Zone
The Fan Zone will once again be a central hub of activity on campus. The Fan Zone serves as a gathering place for fans to meet and take in multiple matches on the tennis-court length video wall while relaxing under a shade canopy. Spectators can enjoy music, chef demonstrations, Q&As with current and legendary players, coaches, and more on the Kroger Fan Zone Stage or visit the Western & Southern Financial Group Booth for special giveaways and opportunities. The Veroni Bar and Maestro Dobel bar cart offer cocktails and libations for fans while Cadillac adds a premium feel to the space. Fans also will have the chance to snap a photo of their Cincinnati Open experience at various photo ops or show off their own tennis game at the Prasco speed serve challenge or on the USTA Midwest mini courts.
Throughout the tournament, 68 different musical performances ranging from bands to solo artists to DJs are scheduled from stages in the Fan Zone and Food Court as well as various locations around the campus.
Merchandise
With the new name and logo, there is a new line of branded tournament merchandise and an upgraded on-site shopping experience highlighted by official apparel from FILA at the Cincinnati Open Shop. There will also be limited edition 125th anniversary merchandise available this August.
For the Tennis Fans
If the 209 scheduled matches are not enough for the hardcore tennis fans, the Cincinnati Open has plenty of other ways to touch the sport. Practice sessions occur on at least 13 Prasco Practice courts – four more than last year – and are open to spectators. Players also will be out and about throughout the week, making appearances around the grounds, participating in autograph signings and post-match interviews at the Tennis Channel set near the Food Court. Credit One Bank’s Selfie with the Stars activation will give fans the chance to take home a photo with a favorite player.
New Fan Lawn
Adjacent to the new practice courts, a new Fan Lawn will feature a RIDE Cincinnati cycling experience and fundraiser where every mile pedaled on stationary bikes will support cancer research. One lucky fan who registers for RIDE during the Cincinnati Open will win a new bike. Fuel up with sampling opportunities and brand activations from Pepsi, enjoy a post-ride, post-match stretch from Stretch Labs on select days and get competitive juices flowing with various lawn games.
Food and Drink
Several of the area’s most popular restaurants will be operating in the Food Court, including Alfio’s Buon Cibo, E+O, Playa Bowls, Prime Cincinnati and Taste of Belgium. Cincinnati staples Graeter’s, LaRosa’s and Skyline Chili also will be available alongside Bru Brothers Coffee, Chicken Salad Chick, Kala Greek, Mazunte and Street City Pub. Around the grounds will be Philly Pretzel carts, Levy operated concession stands and a Kroger Market.
Cincinnati Open visitors will be able to quench their thirst at signature bars, including on the Top Deck where Maestro Dobel Tequila and Sonder Brewing return, each with a tournament drink: the Ace Paloma and the Causing a Racket grapefruit kölsch, respectively. Moët Chandon also returns with its popular patio and will debut its champagne vending machine while La Crema will be poured in the Wine Garden. Veroni will host a new bar located in the Fan Zone.
The Tennis Side
All-new seats within Center Court will give all attendees an upgraded experience while additional amenities will be available to fans in several premium seating and hospitality areas. Those offerings include the climate-controlled Baseline Premier seats, the fully enclosed 1899 Club, an all-inclusive experience in the Fifth Third Advantage Club, renovated suites above Center Court, the new Oasis presented by Veroni on Top Deck, new suites at the P&G Grandstand and the Sip + Serve Deck overlooking Court 10. Patrons looking to purchase tickets in one of the tournament’s premium spaces may do so here.
There will be a number of opportunities to get out of those seats and get moving throughout the week, starting with Community Day on Aug. 10 with opportunities to participate in yoga, a boot camp and cardio tennis. Community Day will feature a doubles exhibition match starring legends of the game, live music, a Taste the Tournament ticketed experience, family-friendly activities, the making of the Cincinnati Open draw and more. Community Day tickets are available here.
Aspiring tennis talent can try their hand at tennis then enjoy face painting, balloon art, player autograph signings and more on Aug. 11 at P&G Kids Day. Over the tournament’s second weekend, attendees will be able to catch more than just the pros in action, with a 14U Team USA clinic and high school play featured alongside an ACEing Autism event as well as wheelchair, adaptive and Buddy Up tennis action.
Match action begins with qualifying on Sunday, Aug. 11, followed by the main draw on Monday, Aug. 12, through to the singles finals on Monday, Aug. 19.
