Cincinnati Open’s 2025 in Review

Dec 18, 2025

As the final days of 2025 are upon us, we’re feeling nostalgic, reflective, grateful and simply moved by all that this year held for the Cincinnati Open. This year has been unlike any other and while we’re experiencing all the feels as it comes to a close, we’re also incredibly energized by what’s to come in 2026.

But before we turn to a new year, join as we look back at our top 10 moments of 2025. Consider this our holiday card, our highlight reel, our thank you note to everyone who made it possible.

1. Fan Fest

Even before tournament action got underway, you showed up in droves to celebrate the unofficial kick-off of Cincinnati Open season. Fan Fest at downtown Cincinnati’s Washington Park featured a viewing of the Wimbledon men’s singles final (Sincaraz there, Sincaraz here – a story for another time), food trucks, family fun, music, pop-up vendors, mini tennis courts, exclusive tournament swag and more. The perfect way to get excited for an incredible tournament yet to come.

    2. More Days, More Tennis, More Fans

In 2025 we expanded to 14 days of world-class tennis, welcoming twice the number of players. As if you didn’t love the Cincinnati Open already, there was even more to love this year. And boy, did you love it. This year’s tournament saw record-breaking attendance with 285,571 fans on-site and the expanded grounds at capacity over several days.

      3. Unveiling Our Transformed Campus

Speaking of the expanded grounds, 2025 saw the completion of a $260 million campus transformation project done in partnership with the City of Mason, Warren County and the State of Ohio. The expanded site doubled its footprint to cover 40 acres and featured state-of-the-art player amenities, 10 new practice courts, a new sunken stadium, enhanced fan spaces and more.

        4. Incredible On-Court Moments

The on-court action at this year’s Cincinnati Open was nothing short of inspiring. From Terence Atmane’s unforgettable and improbable launch into the semifinals to a nail-biting Raducanu vs. Sabalenka showdown, the tennis talent showed up and showed out in 2025.

          5. An Unforgettable Surprise

The superstars of tennis weren’t just creating spectacular moments on-court. They were also engaging with fans around the grounds like never before. There’s nothing quite like the emotions that came when Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner surprised unsuspecting fans for a memory of a lifetime. The reactions – from the players, fans and those who saw it all on video – were tear-filled and goosebump inducing.

            6. A Behind-the-Scenes Look

Leading up to and throughout the tournament, film crews documented what went on behind the scenes to bring the 2025 Cincinnati Open to life. “Cincinnati’s Open,” a four-part docuseries, aired before, during and after the tournament, shedding light on the tournament’s growth and transformation, the people power required to host the event and the player experience from arrival through the finals.

              7. New Champions

As the tournament concluded, we were honored to celebrate two brand new Cincinnati champions. Two of the biggest names in tennis – Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek – hoisted the coveted Rookwood Cup among adoring crowds. The cheers and excitement continued as both greeted their fans from the Player Bridge, smiling for photos, launching Jellycats into the crowd and savoring the success of their titles.

                8. Giving Back On and Off the Court

In 2025, the Cincinnati Open’s commitment to community was stronger than ever. From new community-focused initiatives like Aces for Kids to long-standing programs like ACEing Autism, Kids Day and Cincy Serves, the tournament created meaningful moments of impact for the community we’re proud to call home. Through direct giving and sponsorship, the tournament donated more than $588,600 in 2025 to organizations doing important work locally and nationally.

                  9. Tournament of the Year

To close the year, we were honored to be named both ATP and WTA 1000 Tournament of the Year, a first in our history. This recognition belongs to the players, partners, volunteers and fans who make the Cincinnati Open all that it is. We are incredibly grateful, humbled and eager to do even more in 2026.

                    10. Looking Ahead to 2026

Finally, a highlight of 2025 is the excitement of what’s to come in 2026. The 2026 Cincinnati Open will be held August 11-23, 2026 and will mark the return of Sunday finals. Expect an action-packed weekend to close out another incredible tournament. Start planning your 2026 Cincinnati Open experience by registering for the ticket pre-sale below.
