The initial entries into the Western & Southern Open doubles fields include all of this year’s men’s Grand Slam major winners, two of the three women’s champions, and three of the four defending Western & Southern Open doubles champions.

The men’s entry lists includes 2022 Australian Open winning team Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis, French Open winners Marcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Rojer, and Wimbledon champions Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell. The top entered team is world No. 1 Joe Salisbury and No. 2 Rajeev Ram. Together, they have two Grand Slam major titles and two ATP Masters 1000 titles. Ram grew up in Indianapolis, was the Indiana state high school champion and won the NCAA national doubles and team titles at Illinois.

The Western & Southern Open will also welcome 2022 Australian Open and Wimbledon women’s winners Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova. They own five total Grand Slam major titles as a team and need only the U.S. Open to complete the doubles career Grand Slam.

Defending Western & Southern Open men’s winners Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos are back in Cincinnati, as is women’s defending champion Samantha Stosur with new partner Latisha Chan.

Eight former Western & Southern Open men’s doubles champions, including the 2018 winning team of Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares, are in the field, along with six former women’s champions. Lucie Hradecka, who holds a record three Western & Southern Open doubles titles, and two-time champion Sania Mirza are teaming up this year to try to win their first W&S Open title together.

This year’s French Open runners-up and Doha WTA 1000 winners Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula are entered, as well as ATP Masters 1000 Miami winners John Isner and Hubert Hurkacz. Isner has won four additional ATP Masters 1000 doubles titles over his career. Former Western & Southern Open doubles champion Pablo Carreno Busta is teaming up with teen Carlos Alcaraz at this year’s event.
